What A Difference A Day Makes
March 20th, 2010 Official first day of spring
vs
March 22nd, 2010
Even the daffodils get a dusting.
And so does the squill. Peas love a little snow though and they're overdue for planting. This week? We hope so.
It's not our job to earn God's love but to give it away.
Eat outside "the box."
"I have a mustard seed and I'm not afraid to use it."
Finding The Garden
If you're new to the garden, we're at 32 Joe Jenkin's Rd. in Fairview, NC 28730, a few minutes south of Asheville. You can specifically find us by turning off of Hwy 74-A East and onto Joe Jenkins Road, (Near Trout Lily and Caty Corner to Angelos). Park in the parking lot of The Chapel Door which you'll quickly see on your left. You can't see our garden from the road or from the church. Hike up to the church's meditation garden (the white cross) and as you crest that little hill, you'll see The Lord's Acre Garden.
There are several entrance gates in the electric fence which is usually off when volunteers are about but use caution until you are sure. (If you do happen to come out when no one is working, please close all gates, beware of the electric fence, be careful where you walk - especially do not walk on the mounded beds, do not allow children to run free in the garden and please refrain from smoking in the garden - it spreads disease.)
